Why is porcelain more expensive than natural stone?

The material costs more and it must be laid on a primed full mortar bed with careful cutting, which takes skilled time. In return you get an extremely durable, low-maintenance surface that keeps its finish for years.

Does porcelain paving get slippery?

Quality outdoor porcelain is manufactured with a textured, slip-resistant finish rated for external use. It is no slipperier than most paving when wet and is easy to keep clean.

Does porcelain need sealing?

No. Porcelain is virtually non-porous, so it does not need sealing and resists staining, moss and algae far better than natural stone.

How long does a porcelain patio take to lay?

A typical patio takes around one to two weeks depending on size, groundworks and any steps or features. We will confirm the timescale with your quote.

Can porcelain be laid over an existing patio?
